The podcast this week is all about lost civilizations - a little history, some of the very strange (and sometimes even otherworldly!) situations surrounding their rise and disappearance, and of course some spirited discussion about what scenarios could have led them to their fates. When we don't have the benefit of historical documentation to follow along with, a lot of the most recognized scientists and anthropologists out there can only make educated guesses as to what happened to these civilizations. We do, however, have a lot of new information since the last time you may have heard of places like Gobekli Tepe and Rapa Nui (Easter Island), for example.

We were joined on the show by quite a few beers, including the inimitable Pabst's Blue Ribbon and some great citrus IPAs including the seasonal Citra Hero by Revolution Brewing. Yum!

We're right between the NFL draft and NFL training camps, so we thought it was a good time to check in with the league to see what's going on so you can be prepared for even the earliest drafts. On this show, we went over the most recent injury news (and rumors) - thankfully not much at this point will affect the season. We also enjoyed one of my favorite IPA's, the classic Bell's Two Hearted and paired that with a new brew from Lagunitas called "The Low Down Ale", which probably has the most flavor per % of abv I've ever had in a beer.

We also took the time to go through the guys who are sitting at the top of our preseason consensus rankings, 10 QB's and TE's and 20 WR's and RB's. Check back soon for updated rankings and a full preseason list later in the summer. Finally, we shifted our focus to dynasty leagues and went over the top 5 rookies at each position, according to the FantasyPros ECR rankings.

Tonight's podcast features a variety of tips to make your life a more frugal one. For most people, the idea is not to follow every single money-saving idea, but rather to pick a few at a time that you can accomplish on a regular basis. We'll go over tips for buying food / grocery shopping / meal-planning, share some resources and tricks for making a budget that works and move on to cost-saving measures through energy savings. Good luck!

We were joined on the show by quite a few beers, including the Firestone Walker Double Barrel Ale, and the Game of Thrones 'Iron Throne' Blonde ale. Delicious!

There's no denying that the climate is changing due to all the fossil fuels that we're burning. On this show, we look into what solutions are actually out there to replace all of the stuff we've been burning for the last 150 years. We look into wind, solar, hydro and nuclear power to try and find the solution, but of course there isn't just one answer.
Listen to Retrospectical Ep18, Clean Alternative Energy Sources
We were also joined by our good pal the Lizard King, courtesy of Pipeworks Brewing in Chicago. It's a great hoppy, light pale ale, check it out if you can get your hands on it.

On our first fantasy football podcast of 2016 we invite special guests Graham Sell and Shawn Foss into the studio for a look at the new draft class and the big free agent moves of the 2016 off-season. Should Ezekiel Elliot really be the 1st overall pick in dynasty drafts? Will Paxton Lynch step up to the plate in Denver right away or could Mark Sanchez run away with the job? With only a few months left until the regular season starts up it's important to get as much background as you can on these guys!

Looking back on all of the amazing scientific discoveries of the 20th century, you can easily see how science has helped us grow as a society by leaps and bounds. Even more interesting are the exponential advances that science has brought us since the 2000s. From the success of private spaceflight to the mapping of the human genome, these recent years have turned what used to be only fiction into a reality.
On this podcast, we'll go in-depth into some of the most important scientific discoveries from the past 5 years and discuss their implications as well as present and future applications. Listen in!

We check in for another installment of the Retrospectical Podcast and deliver you a guide to cutting the cord. We're joined by drinkfive.com contributor Mike Mocerino (pronoinced Moss-er-ino) as we dive into the world of cable alternatives. We take a look at the biggies: Netflix and Hulu, but also examine Amazon Prime, Sling TV, HBO Now and the various streaming sports packages available.
We were lucky enough to enjoy a few rare beers, like the Jai Alai White Oak IPA from Cigar City, straight from Florida. We also had some local flavor in the form of Emmet's Double Talk Double IPA.
We finished up our conversation by discussing the hardware you need to cut the cord, like a Roku, Amazon Fire Stick or Google Chromecast. I think that we all acknowledge the draw of saving money by cutting the cord, but we may be too hooked on our football to let go of it just yet.

We're back for more episodes of Retrospectical in 2016 and leading with an interesting show about 3 very different festivals in the US that share the same general theme - food! From Baconfest Chicago to the National Lentil Festival and the Gilroy Garlic Festival, the next few months are filled with some great events. We go into details and interview representatives from each festival: Seth Zurer, co-founder of Baconfest, Alexandria Anderson, director of the Lentil festival and David Reynolds, president of the Garlic festival.
Between all of the insights into their specific events provided by our special guests, our own mini beerfest during the show (including tasting such beers as Easter Bunny vs. Unicorn from Pipeworks, Pyramid IPA and Stone Old Guardian Barley Wine style Ale) and much more, this is a show that you should check out!

Fantasy Football Podcast
The Fantasy Finish Line Podcast has been chugging along for a few years now, still operating with its original hosts - David Biggs and Jason Evans. This 45-60 minute weekly program airs leading up to and during the NFL regular season (when fantasy happens) with some special broadcasts throughout the year. Whether you need to dish on draft strategy before the season starts or just need some advice on who to pick up from the waiver wire, our fantasy football show will help you through the tough times and onto the trophy!
Retrospectical Podcast
The Universe is huge and we are small. Not much we can do about that. What we can do, however, is to try to make sense of all the things around us. Too many things are just taken for granted when instead we should be searching for deeper understanding and meaning. Or not. Either way, it is the goal of the Retrospectical Podcast to shed some light on topics that have more under the surface than you may be aware of. From the history and evolution of television to drones and alternative currencies, we'll explore a wide-range of topics and surely get off on some wacky tangents but ultimately be better off for it. That's the idea, anyway!
TV Soup Podcast
The hosts of the TV Soup Podcast, Jason Evans and David Biggs, have both long been immersed in media and technology but their hopeless addiction to modern television series has been a somewhat recent development. With the advent of shows like Dexter, Breaking Bad, Sherlock and Game of Thrones, television has grown up quickly to the point where we would now rather be blowing through TV series than going out to a movie in most cases! We'll be jumping from one series to another, doing reviews and providing weekly commentary along the way on this 30-minute weekly broadcast.
