Welcome to the TV Soup podcast, home of drinkfive.com’s television review series. In this episode we continue our discussion of Netflix's Daredevil with episodes 9 & 10, "Speak of the Devil" and "Nelson v. Murdock". This show keeps reminding us that it is the darkest of the properties set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the excruciating fight scene that framed "Speak of the Devil" was one of the best in the series. How Matt was able to get home that night still breathing is a testament to his inner strength and willpower. The insight into Matt and Foggy's time spent as friends and colleagues in their formative years that we see in "Nelson v. Murdock" was much needed and adds to the impact of episode 10's ending. With only 3 episodes left, we can't wait to finish up the series!
TV Soup Podcast: Daredevil, "Speak of the Devil" & "Nelson v. Murdock" Review
Just as a reminder, we're going through this series 2 episodes at a time so there are only a few weeks left before we move on to something else. We would highly recommend that you watch Daredevil in a similar fashion, since the whole thing plays out more like a movie than a TV series. Although there are a few gaffs that always come with a show based on a comic book, Daredevil has been put together pretty flawlessly in our professional opinions and we're looking forward to breaking down the rest of the episodes in the series leading up to the finale.

I've been passionate about National Parks ever since I was a little kid. I used to plan grand road trips that would hit as many parks as possible. I wanted to see the biggest, wildest, tallest, grandest features that America's west has to offer. I've made it to a few of them since they were just a trip drawn on a map to me, and on this episode we talk about what it took to create the parks, what's behind them and what our personal experiences with the parks have been.
Retrospectical Podcast Ep11 - America's National Parks
The one thing that I can't stress enough is just how much more amazing all of these places are in person. If you live in America, go visit a National Park. If you don't - go find one near you! There are parks or reserves set aside in almost 100 different countries. Finally, in the words of John Muir, "The mountains are calling and I must go."

Feel that tingling sensation? It's just below your neck, next to your shoulder, you can barely reach it. It's the fantasy football itch! We've been without NFL games for over 3 months, and it's been almost 5 months since there's been any regular fantasy football leagues. It's time to talk fantasy football! This week we're joined by our resident Rookie Expert, Shawn Foss (@Shawn_Foss) and we discussed the brand new 2015 draft class.
Fantasy Football Podcast - May 13 - 2015 NFL Draft Class
Going by position, of course we started at the QB's, just like the NFL teams did. We broke down the possible fantasy impact from two top tier RB's drafted in the first half of the first round, much higher than any RB's have been taken in recent years. Finally, we dug through the incoming WR class. Mostly, we want to know if we'll be as impressed with the rookie WR's as we were last year!

Welcome to the TV Soup podcast, home of drinkfive.com’s television review series. In this episode we continue our discussion of Netflix's Daredevil with episodes 7 & 8, "Stick" and "Shadows in the Glass". We finally meet the man who helped to shape young Matt Murdock after his father's death and we get some great background history on Wilson Fisk and why he is the way he is. Scary stuff. Daredevil is really shaping up to be something special as it winds down toward the season finale.

A subject that has fascinated scientists and science fiction enthusiasts alike as far back as the 1950's, artificial intelligence is a field that counts on the rapid development of other technologies, like computational power. With the current exponential growth of technology, it is estimated by many reputable scientists that work in the field of AI that we will begin to see some semblance of artificial intelligence become a reality in the next few decades.
Retrospectical Podcast ep10 - Artificial Intelligence & The Kurzweil Singularity
Ray Kurzweil holds a fairly shiny, optimistic view of how humans and technology can come together to both become more than they already are individually. There are plenty of negative voices on this front, though, such as Elon Musk, Steve Wozniak and Stephen Hawking, all of whom have expressed caution and even distress over the rapid progress in artificial intelligence. It is certainly something to keep an eye on, especially since it seems there are new developments in the field every time you look away to watch a cat video on YouTube. I, for one, welcome our new robot overlords?

Welcome to the TV Soup podcast, home of drinkfive.com’s television review series. In this episode we continue our discussion of Netflix's Daredevil with episodes 5 & 6, "World on Fire" and "Condemned". The Marvel Cinematic Universe has never felt darker and more violent than in this Netflix series, and we love it! Congrats, Netflix - certainly looking forward to the other Marvel properties that they are developing.

Welcome to the TV Soup podcast, home of drinkfive.com’s television review series. In this episode we continue with the Netflix series, Daredevil. We'll be going at it 2 episodes at a time (since binge watching is really the Netflix way), so please join us as we travel through this newest installment in the Marvel cinematic universe. This week we cover Episodes 3 - ""Rabbit in a Snowstorm" and 4 - "In the Blood"
TV Soup Podcast - Daredevil S1E3 & S1E4 - "Rabbit in a Snowstorm" and "In the Blood"
This show is certainly the darkest thing done to date in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and certainly one of the most interesting. The cast has been fantastic thus far, so make sure to check in with us every week as we do another 2 episodes of Daredevil. We may even talk about Avengers 2, coming out in just a few days.

This week we dive into (blast off?) a subject that we both grew up as big fans of. Space!! Throughout our lives, NASA has been the main conduit that we, as Americans, view space travel. We began the episode with a look at NASA's decline over the last 20 years or so, mainly due to it's funding slowly dwindling to an all time low (in terms of % of the national budget).
Retrospectical Podcast (Episode 9) - NASA & The Rise of Private Space Exploration
We move on to private ventures, from SpaceX resupplying the ISS and landing their own rockets on platforms at sea to Virgin Galactic's space tourism. I think we're both very excited for what's to come with space exploration, and this ought to be a great topic to dive into again sometime, if only to look at the advancements that happened in the meantime.

This is drinkfive.com, checking in with another fantasy football podcast! As we approach the 2015 NFL rookie draft and teams start their offseason training programs, the amount of news and conjecture surrounding the 2015 fantasy football season should increase exponentially. We used this episode to chat about some recent news, the release of the 2015 NFL schedule and to shine a spotlight on the NFC West division - filled with some strong defenses but a little light on offensive prowess (though the Seahawks are certainly an exception to that rule, especially with their offseason addition of Jimmy Graham from the Saints).
(Listen to the Fantasy Football Podcast - 4/21/15 - NFL Schedule, NFC West)
Next week, we'll be back to the retrospectical podcast for an in-depth look on another interesting topic. Check out our archives for your listening pleasure, or tune in next Tuesday at 9pm CT to listen to the show live (mixlr.com/drinkfive) We'll check back in on the fantasy football radar after the NFL draft and bring our rookie expert Shawn Foss (@shawn_foss) on to give us a detailed rundown on the top fantasy prospects this year and how their situations stack up in the scheme of things.

Welcome to the TV Soup podcast, home of drinkfive.com’s television review series. In this episode we open up a new chapter after wrapping up AMC's Better Call Saul and turn to the recently released Netflix series, Daredevil. We'll be going at it 2 episodes at a time (since binge watching is really the Netflix way), so please join us as we travel through this newest installment in the Marvel cinematic universe.
TV Soup Podcast: Daredevil, "Into the Ring" & "Cut Man" Review
As a sidenote, Jason and I have watched the majority of TV shows and movies set in the Marvel universe but we're not at all up-to-speed on the original comic books. We're looking at this show as completely separate from the previous Daredevil movie starring Ben Affleck and will not be looking at spoilers from the comic book, or earlier adaptations. Also, a second season of Daredevil has already been ordered by Netflix. That was quick!
Editor's Note: In the podcast we mention that Drew Goddard was going to be directing Sinister Six until it was shelved for a new Spiderman title. That's correct, but Sinister Six is based around a collection of supervillains from Spiderman, not Superman as I mentioned incorrectly.
Fantasy Football Podcast
The Fantasy Finish Line Podcast has been chugging along for a few years now, still operating with its original hosts - David Biggs and Jason Evans. This 45-60 minute weekly program airs leading up to and during the NFL regular season (when fantasy happens) with some special broadcasts throughout the year. Whether you need to dish on draft strategy before the season starts or just need some advice on who to pick up from the waiver wire, our fantasy football show will help you through the tough times and onto the trophy!
Retrospectical Podcast
The Universe is huge and we are small. Not much we can do about that. What we can do, however, is to try to make sense of all the things around us. Too many things are just taken for granted when instead we should be searching for deeper understanding and meaning. Or not. Either way, it is the goal of the Retrospectical Podcast to shed some light on topics that have more under the surface than you may be aware of. From the history and evolution of television to drones and alternative currencies, we'll explore a wide-range of topics and surely get off on some wacky tangents but ultimately be better off for it. That's the idea, anyway!
TV Soup Podcast
The hosts of the TV Soup Podcast, Jason Evans and David Biggs, have both long been immersed in media and technology but their hopeless addiction to modern television series has been a somewhat recent development. With the advent of shows like Dexter, Breaking Bad, Sherlock and Game of Thrones, television has grown up quickly to the point where we would now rather be blowing through TV series than going out to a movie in most cases! We'll be jumping from one series to another, doing reviews and providing weekly commentary along the way on this 30-minute weekly broadcast.
